Town of Woodbury Secures $4 Million for New Town Hall

By Y.M. Lowy

The Town of Woodbury is set to get a new Town Hall after securing $4 million in state funding to purchase and renovate a former Education Center in Highland Mills.

Under the plans, the building will house the supervisor’s office, town clerk, tax collector, assessor, parks department, and public meeting space. A new community room will also be added, while the existing gymnasium will remain available for recreational programming.

The $4 million allocation will cover the full cost of the project, including the building’s $1.9 million purchase price and approximately $2.1 million in renovations. The move is expected to generate long-term savings by eliminating the need for the town’s current leased office space.

Once completed, the new Town Hall is expected to provide residents with a centralized location for a wide range of municipal services while giving new life to a building that has long been a fixture in the community.
