Strong winds and rain overnight caused widespread damage across the Monroe area, bringing down trees and utility poles and leaving many roads blocked by debris.

In several locations, large trees fell across roadways, pulling down live wires and creating hazardous conditions for drivers and residents.

According to Orange and Rockland outage map, nearly 500 residences off Clove Road, in Mountain Lodge Park, are currently without electricity due to the severe winds. Utility crews are working to restore power as conditions improve.

In addition, hundreds of residents in the Woodbury and Highland Mills areas are without electricity, with crews on scene evaluating the situation.
