South Blooming Grove Warns Residents: Schedule Water Meter Replacement or Face $1,000 Monthly Charge

The Village of South Blooming Grove has started installing new digital smart water meters for residents who have already scheduled appointments, and officials are urging everyone else to book their installation as soon as possible.

Scheduling letters with instructions were mailed to all addresses. Any resident who did not receive a letter should contact Village Hall at 845-782-2600 to set up an appointment.

Many homes have still not scheduled their meter replacement. Properties that do not have the new meter installed by April 1 will be charged $1,000 per month for water service until the installation is completed.

Installation is free, takes only a short time, and evening appointments are available. The new smart meters are designed to give more accurate readings and help lower overall costs for both residents and the village water system.
