Seven Springs Mountain Road Reopens Both Ways After Months of Construction
By Y.M. Lowy
Seven Springs Mountain Road is finally open in both directions after months of construction that carried on through heat, cold, sun, and snow. For about half a year the road was closed to one lane, which meant everyone had to loop around to Chevron Road whenever they needed to get through. This past Friday afternoon the construction workers took down the signs and the road became a two way again.
The project on Seven Springs Mountain Road focused on making the area safer and easier to drive. The road was widened and new turning lanes were added. The intersection at Seven Springs and Mountain Road used to form a confusing Y shape. It has now been rebuilt into a simple T shape with smooth pavement and clear lanes, and the middle section that confused drivers is gone.
Now that the new layout is finished and traffic can move both ways, drivers can finally skip the detour and enjoy a smoother ride through the neighborhood.
