Sanitation Service Cost Increase
By Mrs. I. Perl
Inflation is currently being felt at the grocery, the gas station, and everywhere in between, and now it’s coming to the sanitation costs as well.
Earlier this week, the Village of Kiryas Yoel let all residents know that sanitation prices will be increasing on their next bill.
In a pamphlet distributed to all Kiryas Yoel residents, the Village explained that the rising costs of the workers’ wages and the upkeep of the trucks has increased the sanitation department’s costs over the last few years. Currently, the sanitation department has an annual deficit of a million dollars, and as much as they tried not to put it on the residents, the village was forced to raise the sanitation bill for all residents.
The new price will be reflected on the next sanitation bill, and the Village asked for understanding and cooperation from all residents who enjoy the benefits of a punctual, efficient sanitation department.
