New Bridge Over I-87 in Newburgh Set to Open This Summer
By Y.M. Lowy
The New York State Thruway Authority announced that crews have completed pouring the concrete deck for the new Meadow Hill Road bridge over Interstate 87. The project, which carries a $7.8 million price tag, is now on track to open in July.
The work has been happening steadily, but largely under the radar. Still, once summer traffic picks up, the impact will be more noticeable, especially for those traveling through the area regularly.
The new bridge will improve safety and traffic flow along this stretch of the Thruway, replacing older infrastructure with a more modern and reliable structure.
