Monroe On Thunderstorm and Flood Watch: What to Do When Traffic Lights Go Out
By Mrs. I. Perl
Monroe is expecting heavy rainstorms later today as remnants from Tropical Storm Debby that is currently in Georgia. Although the tropical storm isn't expected to hit New York directly, its aftermath will be felt in parts of New York later today and at the end of the week.
Thunderstorms are expected to hit the Monroe area tonight and last until tomorrow, and flood warnings are in effect as well. O&R has mobilized their emergency response team in preparation for the storm and warns that there might be outages.
NYS Department of Transportation is reminding drivers that in case of a traffic light that is down or not working the intersection should be treated like a 4-way stop.
