Heat Advisory Issued For Orange County As Heat Index Could Reach 101 Degrees
Yisroel R.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for Orange County as dangerously hot and humid conditions are expected to move into the area this week.
The advisory will take effect Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. and remain in place through Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. The heat index, which reflects how hot it feels when humidity is included, could climb as high as 101 degrees, with Wednesday expected to bring the most intense heat.
Residents are urged to drink water regularly, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest hours, and spend time in air-conditioned locations when possible. People should also check on elderly neighbors and others who may not have access to air conditioning.
Children should never be left inside a parked vehicle, even briefly. Anyone showing signs of heat stroke, including confusion, loss of consciousness, unusually hot skin, or a very high body temperature, requires immediate medical attention.
