Village of South Blooming Grove's Ongoing Project to Fix Water Breaks
By Y.M. Lowy
The Village of South Blooming Grove has been working to fix water main breaks by checking and improving its water systems. The village also did an expensive leak survey, using cameras to find cracks in the pipes, especially in the old Worley Heights area, which has the most breaks.
After reviewing the 2024 data, the village has cut its annual water loss, which was around 20%, by half. This improvement came after investing in upgrades. However, the village is still losing 10% of its daily water supply, which is pumped from wells and stored in tanks.
Crews are continuing their work to repair pipes and reduce water loss even more. The Village of Blooming Grove plans to reduce daily water loss to below 5% next year.
