Tragic Rollover on Route 17M Claims One Life

A serious rollover accident occurred Friday morning on Route 17M in Monroe, that resulted in the tragic passing of one person, a 59 year old male. The vehicle overturned and struck a utility pole, trapping the driver inside. Emergency responders from Monroe EMS, KJ Hatzalah, Monroe Police, State Police and the Monroe Fire Department rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead on Shabbos morning.

Route 17M was shut down for many hours in both directions from the 208/17M intersection through Millpond Parkway as authorities investigated the cause of the crash.
