South Blooming Grove Selects Duelk Avenue As First Street Under New Sidewalk Project With Federal Funding Secured By Congressman Pat Ryan

The Village of South Blooming Grove has officially selected Duelk as the first street included in a new sidewalk project expected to begin in the coming months.
The project is moving forward after Congressman Pat Ryan secured more than $2 million in federal funding, providing the village with the money needed to begin the long-awaited sidewalk improvements.
Under the village’s current plan, construction will begin along the inner side of Duelk Avenue. Based on the available funding and the project’s final budget, the village will then continue installing sidewalks along the outer side of the street until the entire project is completed.
The village is currently in the design and engineering stage, with engineers preparing the detailed plans and calculations required for the project. This includes reviewing the street layout, drainage and rainwater systems, fire hydrants, utility infrastructure, and other details that must be addressed before construction begins.
Once the engineering work is completed, the project will move into a public bidding process, allowing qualified contractors to submit bids for the work. The village will then select a contractor based on the bidding process.
Following the completion of the planning and bidding stages, the village will officially begin construction and release a final timetable with additional details for residents. Village officials said they will continue providing updates as each stage of the project moves forward.
