By Mrs. I. Perl
Governor Kathy Hochul announced today that $4.85 million in grants is being awarded to various municipalities across New York towards the installation of new electric vehicle chargers. The grants are funded by the State’s Municipal Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Grants program, which supports ongoing efforts throughout New York to advance clean transportation and help reduce pollution.
Of the $4.85 million, $250,000 will be awarded to South Blooming Grove for the installation of 3 DCFC pedestals, which are fast charging stations.
“My administration is committed to advancing the transition to a cleaner and healthier future for our environment benefitting all New Yorkers,” Governor Hochul said. “Our continued investments in electric vehicle infrastructure encourages more drivers to switch to electric, reducing pollution and emissions across the State and improving the health and well-being of our residents and communities.”
