Sidewalk Funding Officially Approved for South Blooming Grove

Sidewalk Funding Officially Approved for South Blooming Grove

By Y.M. Lowy

Federal funding for south Blooming Grove local sidewalks has officially been approved.

After extended advocacy efforts together with Congressman Pat Ryan, the federal bill passed the Senate and was signed into law by President Donald Trump, securing more than $2 million for sidewalk improvements in the area.

For many families in the Village of South Blooming Grove this marks a significant step. Sidewalk funding has long been a priority for residents seeking more walkable streets, and the approval brings that goal closer to reality.

The next phase will focus on determining which streets will receive sidewalks based on local needs and road conditions, followed by engineering plans that may include infrastructure improvements such as drainage and lighting. After detailed designs are completed, officials will finalize a construction budget and move the project into a formal bidding process to select contractors.

As soon as these procedures are completed, an exact construction schedule will be announced so work can begin in a timely and successful manner.
