After delays caused by unforeseen challenges, work to widen Route 208 at Mountain Road is in the process of getting done. With nicer weather conditions than expected, crews are making progress on the long-awaited project. You can expect more construction workers, heavy equipment, and traffic, which will cause delays.
Monroe Daily has followed the construction since the Village of South Blooming Grove secured state approval, a necessary step since Route 208 is a state road, and the major hurdle involved with relocating electric poles along the roadside.
Now, with conditions in their favor, workers are finally working on the expansion, aiming to improve traffic flow and safety in the area.
