Repaving Work Scheduled In South Blooming Grove Along Virginia Road And Nearby Streets

YSR.

Repaving work is scheduled to begin in South Blooming Grove along Virginia Road and parts of Arlington Drive and Roanoke Drive on Thursday, August 6, continuing through Friday, August 7, before resuming the following Monday, weather permitting.

The project follows Orange & Rockland’s recent underground infrastructure work in the area, during which sections of the roads were opened. Those sections, along with additional portions of the roads, will now be repaved as part of the project.

Crews will begin by removing the top layer of the existing roadway on Thursday and Friday in preparation for repaving. The affected roads are then scheduled to receive their new pavement the following Monday.

Motorists should expect temporary lane closures, changing traffic patterns, and traffic delays while construction is underway. Residents are also advised not to park on the affected streets during the scheduled work so crews can complete the project safely and efficiently.

Residents are also asked to bring garbage cans back in after collection and keep them out of the roadway so they do not interfere with construction equipment. Drivers are encouraged to use caution, follow all posted signs and directions from work crews, and allow extra travel time while traveling through the area.
