Orange County Launches New Police System
By Y.M. Lowy
Robert Doss, Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Services, upon joining Orange County, made it a priority to advance a critical public safety project that had been struggling.
By assembling a skilled team, including IT Commissioner Glenn Marchi and System Integration Manager Bill O’Connor, Doss was able to push the initiative forward.
The result? The successful launch of the NicheRMS in collaboration with local police departments from Middletown, Warwick, and Monroe. This system enhances real-time data sharing and situational awareness across agencies, ultimately improving officer safety, response times, and community protection.
With plans to extend NicheRMS to all 28 police departments, the Sheriff’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office, Orange County is on its way to creating a unified public safety system.
