New O&R Substation Project Underway on Forest Avenue to Support Growing Demand
Yisroel R.
Orange & Rockland Utilities has begun construction on a new electrical substation on Forest Avenue near YD Goldberger Drive, as part of efforts to support the area’s continued growth in recent years.
Kiryas Joel has seen steady expansion, with new developments increasing the demand for reliable electricity across the village.
Utility officials say the new substation will help handle the growing demand for electricity in the area.
Over the past few years, Orange & Rockland has been operating a temporary substation on Larkin Drive near County Route 105 to help meet these needs. The temporary setup allowed the company to maintain service while planning a permanent solution.
Construction is now moving forward on the new substation, which is expected to provide more stable service for residents and businesses as development in the area continues to expand.
