Meadow Hill Road Bridge to Be Replaced
By Y.M. Lowy
The Meadow Hill Road bridge, on the I-87 in Newburgh, will be rebuilt starting this summer. The new bridge will include two 11-foot lanes in each direction, stronger railings, and a smoother surface and is expected to last 75 years.
Construction will begin in spring 2025 and finish by the end of the year. The bridge will be fully closed during this time so the work can be completed in one season.
Traffic will follow signed detours on nearby roads, all under five miles. Routes include South Plank Road, Union Avenue, Route 17K, Monarch Drive, and Fletcher Road.
