Matzil Search and Rescue Locates Missing Hiker on Storm Mountain

Matzil Search and Rescue successfully completed a search and rescue mission Tuesday evening, after receiving a report of a missing hiker near the Storm Mountain trailhead.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., Matzil’s communications center was alerted to a female hiker who had become lost while hiking in the area. Within minutes, Matzil mobilized trained search-and-rescue personnel equipped to operate in rugged and off-trail terrain.

Upon arrival, Matzil search managers established a unified command with local park police, coordinating search operations, terrain assessment, communications, and grid mapping.

After an extensive search through difficult off-trail conditions, rescuers located the hiker. She was found alert and in good condition. Matzil medical and extraction teams safely escorted her back to the trailhead, where she was reunited with her family.
