Massive 3-Alarm Blaze Displaces Multiple Families

YS GOLD

A devastating three-alarm fire tore through a condominium complex at 33 Tanger Road this afternoon, leaving a trail of destruction and several families without a home.

The inferno, which broke out in the late afternoon, quickly escalated, sending thick plumes of smoke visible a distance.

The scale of the emergency prompted a massive, coordinated response from a coalition of local fire departments. First responders from South Blooming Grove, Kiryas Joel, Washingtonville, Salisbury Mills, Woodbury, Vails Gate, Chester, Goshen, Monroe, Tuxedo, Campball Hall and Maybrok converged on the scene. Their combined efforts were critical in preventing the flames from jumping to neighboring structures, as crews battled the intense heat for hours before bringing the blaze under control.

Blooming Grove Police, Chaveirim of Orange County, Monroe EMS, O&R, and Blooming Grove EMS assisted at the scene.

Despite the heroic efforts of the firefighters, the interior of the building sustained catastrophic damage. Several families have been displaced, losing their belongings and their sense of security in a single afternoon.

As fire officials begin their investigation into the cause of the fire, the community's focus remains on supporting the victims as they navigate the difficult road to recovery.
