Local Fire Departments Hold Extrication Exercises

On a sunny and breezy spring Sunday morning, the fire departments of Kiryas Joel and South Blooming Grove held joint exercises in which they simulated real-life incidents which would require trapped passengers. 

The successful simulation brought the volunteer firefighters to the Kiryas Joel emergency services garage where multiple vehicles were staged to have been involved in a serious accident, with a number of them rolled over on their sides. 

The men practiced cutting open the vehicles quickly and effectively, preparing for a similar real-life incident, chas v'shalom, in which patients would be trapped in vehicles. 

The exercise provided valuable hands-on experience for the participating firefighters, helping ensure that they remain prepared to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations. By training together and sharpening their skills, the departments continue to strengthen their ability to protect and serve the communities that rely on them.
