Kiryas Yoel's Long-Awaited NY-17 Exit Route Revived in New DOT Plans
By Daily Monroe Staff
After years of persistent efforts by the Village of Kiryas Yoel, the possibility of a new exit route on NY-17 directly into the village is once again under discussion.
This development aims to alleviate the heavy traffic often experienced on Route 208, which has long been a bottleneck for residents due to frequent traffic lights and congestion.
The New York Department of Transportation recently released new plans for NY-17, and this potential exit route is included among them. If approved and implemented, the new route would significantly improve access to Kiryas Yoel, offering residents a more direct and efficient way to enter the village and bypassing the often slow-moving traffic on Route 208.
