Kiryas Yoel Chaverim Assisting Travelers Before Shabbos

Kiryas Yoel Chaverim has an especially hectic Friday schedule, assisting travelers heading to Kiryas Yoel, the Catskills, and beyond. They handle frequent calls for roadside assistance and offer help with directions, car rentals, lodging, and Shabbos needs.

This past Friday a major accident on Route 6 shut down traffic just an hour before Shabbos, leaving many travelers stranded. Chaverim handled nearly 30 urgent cases, guiding some to alternate routes and staying in contact until they arrived safely.

As Shabbos began, Chaverim, under the dayan’s direction, sent a vehicle to check for stranded travelers. They discovered a Jewish family stuck in a parking lot. Arrangements were quickly made to transport them to Kiryas Yoel for Shabbos.

Chaverim once again urges travelers to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time on Fridays. Chaverim’s lines remain open on Shabbos for emergencies.
