This week, Kiryas Joel Fire Department held a special drill night focused on practicing roof ventilation, a crucial skill in firefighting operations. Using a new roof simulator, firefighters practiced cutting and opening roofs.
Roof ventilation is vital during structure fires because it helps release heat, smoke, and toxic gases, improving conditions inside the building for both firefighters and potential victims.
Through hands-on training, the firefighters gained experience in performing this tactic safely in real fire scenarios. Such drills are essential in preparing firefighters with the necessary skills and teamwork.
