Kiddush Hashem: Woodbury Neighbor Expresses Gratitude for KJ Hatzalah

By Daily Monroe Staff

A heartfelt post on the Families of Woodbury Orange County NY Facebook page has brought attention to the exemplary service provided by KJ Hatzalah, highlighting the positive impact of the Jewish community on the region.

In a moving message shared publicly, the resident wrote:

“I know this isn’t the popular opinion, but I felt compelled to share my experience... This past Saturday morning, I had an emergency and needed an ambulance to take me to the hospital. Woodbury’s ambulance was already on a call, so another one from a nearby town was dispatched for me. I was shocked when the ambulance that arrived was from Kiryas Joel. The paramedics immediately went to work to stabilize me. I’ve had limited interactions with the Hasidic community, but their professionalism and caring manner put me at ease in a way I would have never expected. Despite the tensions that exist between our communities, the paramedics treated me with kindness and respect that is sometimes missing from our own community. I am forever grateful to them for taking care of me.”

The post quickly garnered attention and praise, including a response from Kathryn Luciani, the Town Supervisor of Woodbury. She acknowledged the resident's gratitude and affirmed the positive impact of KJ Hatzalah on the community. Luciani wrote:

“Thank you for posting this, and I’m happy you got the help you needed. As Woodbury Town Supervisor, I have witnessed many instances where KJ Hatzalah has come to the aid of our community. It’s beautiful when all communities come together for the betterment of our neighbors. I hope for lots of healing for you. Thank you again for spreading such positivity. ❤️💕”
