Goshen Jail Prepared for More Immigrant Detainees
By Daily Monroe Staff
The Orange County Jail in Goshen, which has housed undocumented immigrants for 15 years, may see an increase in detainees due to a new executive order from President Trump.
As per Mid-Hudson News, Sheriff Paul Arteta confirmed that the facility, which typically holds 60-75 detainees but can accommodate up to 350, has been informed about potential increases.
The jail, vetted by ICE and Homeland Security, has been approved for housing detainees, with additional arrivals likely coming from New York City and the Hudson Valley.
