By Y.M. Lowy
Several residents in the Village of South Blooming Grove were left without power today after wires came down near the intersection of Route 208 and Museum Village Road. The outage affected homes and businesses around the area.
As a result of the outage, traffic signals at the intersection of Route 208 and Duelk Avenue were temporarily inactive, requiring drivers to use extra caution.
Power was restored to many customers around 9 a.m., approximately 15 minutes after the initial outage. However, some areas including Peddler Hill Road, portions of Prospect Road, Duelk Avenue, and Tanager Road remained without electricity for several more hours.
Utility crews from Orange & Rockland continued restoration efforts with full service not restored to all affected customers until approximately 1 p.m.
