Developing: Kiryas Yoel Residents Targeted in Stolen Check Scheme; Post Office Employee Arrested

By Y.M. Lowy

An investigation is currently underway following reports of stolen checks in the Kiryas Yoel area. The Inspector General’s office has arrested a Post Office employee in connection with the theft. One Acres Point resident was recently contacted by the Post Office, who informed them that their stolen checks had been recovered.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have sent checks recently to stay vigilant as the investigation is ongoing.

To protect yourself, monitor your bank accounts for unauthorized transactions and avoid leaving mail overnight. Switching to electronic payments and using high-security checks can help you keep checks secure.

If you notice any suspicious activity, report it to the Postal Service to prevent further fraud.
