Chaverim of Orange County SAR Team Rescues Lost Hikers in Harriman State Park Minutes Before Yom Tov

On Erev Yom Tov, just under an hour before candle lighting, Chaverim of Orange County’s Search and Rescue (SAR) team was dispatched to assist a group of hikers reported lost deep within Harriman State Park.

Despite the time-sensitive nature of the call and the fast-approaching holiday, volunteers from the SAR unit mobilized swiftly. Within 30 minutes of beginning their search, the team located the group and safely escorted them out of the forest.

Thanks to their rapid and coordinated response, the hikers returned home just in time for Yom Tov.
