Bakertown Expansion Opens Ahead of 26 Av

The newly widened and expanded portions of Bakertown Road are opening ahead of the 26 Av yartzeit to accommodate the large number of expected visitors.

Final paving cannot yet be completed because utility wires from Orange & Rockland, Frontier, and Optimum are preventing the permanent traffic lights from being installed. 

Temporary traffic safety signs and striping are being installed for now, allowing the expanded roadway to open in time for 26 Av. Permanent lights, remaining roadwork, and final paving will follow once the utility work is completed.
