A group of West Point cadets spent the day in Kiryas Joel today as part of their educational program to learn about different communities they will serve.
The group included about 15 cadets along with three officers. Their visit began at the Kiryas Joel School District building, where they toured the facilities and asked any questions they had about the community.
After that, they boarded a village bus for a tour of the town, stopping at several local sites, including the fire department and the Town of Palm Tree courthouse. The visit ended at Refresh Supermarket, where the cadets were spotted enjoying a short break and picking up some snacks.
For the cadets, it was a chance to see a way of life very different from what they know. But for Kiryas Joel residents, the sight of uniformed West Point cadets walking through town was just as fascinating.
