By Daily Monroe Staff

A fatal crash late Wednesday night in a Woodbury traffic circle has left one person dead and two others injured, according to New York State Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:53 p.m. on Route 6, when a 2017 Nissan traveling at high speed failed to navigate the Long Mountain traffic circle. Instead, the vehicle went straight through the center of the roundabout and crashed into a tree.

Emergency responders arrived to find three occupants inside the car, all residents of Stony Point. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Steffany C. Egger, and a 21-year-old male passenger in the front seat sustained injuries and were transported to Westchester Medical Center. Tragically, 19-year-old Xavier Egger, who was in the back seat, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information about the crash to contact the State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.
