Historic Pidyon Peter Chamor Event on Chal Hamoed

This Chol Hamoed Pesach, a unique and historic event will take place in the Satmar chassidus as the Rebbe will publically redeem a firstborn donkey in the presence of thousands of chassidim. 

The donkey was born on the farm of a prominent Satmar chossid, the firstborn to its mother. Recognizing the historic significance of this mitzvah, the chossid chose to gift it to the Rebbe. He formally transferred ownership of the donkey to the Rebbe a number of years ago, and this chol Hamo'ed, the Rebbe will exchange it for a sheep. 

The historic event is tentatively scheduled for the third day of Chol Hamoed, and it will take place in Bhm"d Hagudel in Kiryas Yoel. The Rebbe will publicly perform this mitzvah in the presence of thousands of Satmar chassidim from throughout New York and New Jersey.
